Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to March, Women’s History Month—a season set aside to celebrate women and their huge contributions to society.
At the Ugwumba Leadership Center, we are organizing the 5th edition of the Ugwumba Women’s Conference, which is held every year to mark the annual International Women’s Day.
This year, several activities have been mapped out for the celebration of our women, such as:
a) Signing of a partnership agreement with ImpactHer for the training of Ugwumba Women on digital skills. ImpactHer is an organization that is fully committed to empowering African women entrepreneurs by providing them with the necessary digital skills and resources they need to grow their small and medium-sized businesses.
b) Release of small grants to the first batch of beneficiaries of our U-Fund for Women in 2024. As we earlier announced, some women living with HIV/AIDS in Nigeria have also been selected to benefit from this small grants program.
Above all, we have arranged some powerful women advocates from around the world: Prof. Remi Ayodeji Duyile; H.E Dr Alisa Whyte; Ngozi Oyewole; Ebi Elezieanya; etc to speak on “INSPIRE INCLUSION”, which is the theme for this year’s celebration.
Our Vice President, Lolo Uloma Nwosu and the National Coordinator of Ugwumba Women Academy Network, Mrs. Jennifer Turay shall be our hosts at the event.
