The Ugwumba Fund for Women (aka U-Fund for Women) is a micro-grants program of the Ugwumba Leadership Center designed to support rural women in Nigeria, especially petty traders in the rural areas, who are selling “akara”, roasted corn, groundnuts, oranges, vegetables, “mama put”, etc on the streets in order to survive and to provide for their families.
In addition to providing them with small grants, the program also supports women entrepreneurs by providing them with financial literacy and digital skills training, which help them to expand their businesses.
Through this program, we are not only boosting local economies across the country but also empowering women to become financially independent and be able to support their families.
